Carlito & Primo: It's amazing how on Smackdown, Carlito looks all happy, and full of energy. Fast forward and do his yearly move to Raw and he turns back into his miserable lazy looking heel self. The Colons should have NEVER split, nevertheless in under a year. Now neither of them have anything to do. Well done WWE!
I agree and disagree with you on this one. I was shocked to say the least when I (first) read that the Colon's were splitting up. Now, after it is been a while since the split we can evaluate where they stand. Carlito's going back to what the original plan was for him, a singles heel. He's looking more concentrated on what he wants to do, and that's to prove himself once again. His pairing with Rosa Mendez gives him that extra 'it' factor he never got with former bodyguard Jesus. Time will tell if this singles run will get him back in the running for gold. As for Primo, he still looks too green (charisma wise) and is getting over solely on his wrestling ability. His matches are outstanding but he lacks any reason to get behind and cheer for him other than his smile. In conclusion, Carlito's gotten the best end of this deal and that's because the WWE always wanted it that way. Primo's still got a long road ahead of him. In terms of Carlito, I say: Well done WWE!
Evan Bourne: WWE dropped the ball COMPLETELY here. You move this guy to Smackdown or just keep him on ECW and don't move him at all. The guy could have had a great feud with Rey Mysterio over the Intercontinental Title, but instead he's getting the jobber treatment over on Raw.
I agree with your statement here. Evan Bourne has been the one standout failure of the 15 man trade. In my initial review of the 15 Man trade I noted that Bourne's move to Raw was the one questionable move that creative came out with on that one. Bourne's been in a rut and with Hornswoggle and Chavo's feud ending the only logical thing would to continue the Bourne-Guerrero feud. It's the only real thing Evan Bourne can do at this point. He would've been better off staying on ECW (Bourne v. Tatsu; Bourne v. Reks; Bourne v. Regal; Bourne v. Benjamin [I saw this match live in SD same night Edge got injured and this was a solid opener and has potential to be a match of the year if give the time]) or at least moving to Smackdown where he can eventually take on Ziggler again, and even Drew McIntyre now.
Montel Vontavious Porter: Yep. This guy is the single best up and comer in the WWE today. He's done EVERYTHING in the midcard, he's held the US title twice, he's turned face, he's turned heel, the guy has got it all and should be in the main event. It's not me riding his dick either, he should get atleast ONE shot at the title. The dude has been there for 3 years and hasn't got one title shot. I hope Cena wins at HIAC so he moves onto feud with the Franchise Playa, BAWLING!
As already pointed out by others on the thread MVP did get a chance at Unforgiven last year in the scramble. It was a good chance to let him run with the boys. He did a good job. This guy has done everything he can do in the midcard and now his upper card status will begin when he goes on and finally begins a legit feud against Legacy. Having Mark Henry in his corner would help but not necessary. MVP can work with Randy Orton as proven by their match on MVP's first 'official' night on Raw. In order for MVP to get over the hump, so to speak, he will have to pull out a great feud against Randy Orton. He's shown he can hang with Chris Jericho during their short Tag feud stint. MVP's waiting to blow up. He's just biting his time. I see MVP winning what he should've won this year: Money In The Bank.
The Miz and Maryse: I was flat out PISSED when I saw The Miz losing at Breaking Point. I am glad he's got a match at Hell in a Cell. Here's to a Maryse return where she sprays the perfume in Kofi's eyes which allows The Miz to hit the Skull Crushing Finale for his first singles title win. Maryse is the next top diva, pair her with the Miz for a couple of months, then maybe do a storyline where the Miz is caught cheating with say, the Bella Twins and there you have your next top face in Maryse.
Though both wrestlers can draw their fare share of heat, pitting them together would have done wonders for them. Now, it doesn't seem like it can come to fruition anymore with Maryse being out; however, the perfect scenario would be when The Miz gets his one-on-one chance (again) against Kofi Kingston (I'm thinking Kofi over comes the odds again and keeps the title at HIAC), Maryse makes her return and helps The Miz to victory. So in theory I agree with you. Though, I do not like them splitting up based on breaking up. Maryse can't be face. You can split them during next years draft having one (Maryse) go to Smackdown again.
The Legacy: I like these guys and I admit their feud with DX is going well at this moment but most likely, DX are getting the last laugh at Hell in a Cell. The Legacy are better on their own. The Legacy are like the Basham Brothers to Randy Orton's JBL, they basically get killed by Orton's latest challenge. Get them away from them and maybe turn BOTH of them face in time for Ted's movie release. Maybe if they beat DX in the Cell, they'll realize that their last win wasn't a fluke and they don't need Orton's help to be successful.
Dude no way are Legacy the Bashams!! Legacy has been built strong this entire feud. They took it to DX at Summer Slam and almost came out on top. They beat DX at Bragging Rights and their promo the next night put them up a notch in the rankings. And now the rubber match takes them to Hell where they will defeat DX. DX can get their revenge at Survivor Series leaving Legacy to loose but not seem weak since it'll be a classic survivor series match. Legacy needs the victory more than DX. And since both tag matches before have been done so well look for this tag feud to be handled good in the cage and continue beyond.
Santino Marella, Slam Master J, Hornswoggle, Festus: Sorry, I used to like Santino Marella as a heel, but ever since he turned face, his comedy act has became forced and it's actually hard to watch now. He's stale, either serious him up or let him go. Same with Hornswoggle, I loved him as the Little Bastard with Finlay, but then ever since the Vince's son storyline, he got boring and it doesn't help to see him beat a fully grown man week in, week out either. I think Jesse is a really talented guy, he's stuck in a crappy gimmick that doesn't complement his in-ring ability. They should have gave this gimmick to Curt Hawkins, and repackaged "Biscuits and Gravy" Jesse into the "Fabulous Freebird, Jesse Gordy" with Michael P.S Hayes as his manager. Or hell, don't break up Jesse and Festus period. They were over as a team. Festus could have maybe got hit with the bell, which kept him in Angry mode, which would have done well with a Heel turn for the two. Jesse could teach him to go after everyone except himself, giving Festus the sympathy heel role and Jesse as the hated heel.
"The Fabulous Freebird" Jesse Gordy would be great. But, I'm liking Slam Master J. Hawkins would not have been able to pull that role off you're wrong on that one. I can't wait until Hornswoggle gets off my tv. And Festus is irrelevant.
The Hart Dynasty: EASILY the best team WWE has got right now. They have it all, good looks, the talent, the mic skills. Regardless of what people think, DH Smith can go on the mic. He couldn't at first but watch his FCW stuff, the guy improved. His celebrations on Smackdown are hilarious also. I think they would do well in a face role. Especially Nattie and TJ. I think DH Smith is the future of the business. I've been saying this since 2007, infact.
I agree with what one guy said about them not being the best until given a title run. I do agree with you by saying that they COULD EASILY be the best meticulous working tandem in the WWE right now. They can work tag (and even 6 person tag) matches well. They each have the charisma that will get them over. Their attitude fits the pink and black. Their mic skills, though on average, is better than most. I do think they'd get over as a face just because of all the mentioned things working for them. They do need the tag titles before any thought of a face run would work for them. Give them the belts (which I don't see until next year because of Chris Jericho and Big Show doing a great job with them) and then we'll talk Best Tag Team.
ECW: I LOVED this show before the trade, infact it was my favourite show out of them all. Their top stars consisted of the Hart Dynasty, Christian, Jack Swagger, Finlay, Mark Henry, Evan Bourne, and then look what happens, the draft/trade rapes it in the ass once again. Their new stars are okay, but really? Why (storyline wise) would Tiffany let go of The Hart Dynasty, Finlay, Swagger, Bourne and Henry to get Goldust, The Bella Twins, Regal and Shelton? I love Shelton and Regal, but lets speak realistically here, would YOU do that? I wouldn't. As I was saying, Yoshi Tatsu, Sheamus and Abraham Washington are good. Especially since Tony Atlas joined him.
The best things ECW has going for them are: The Christian-Regal feud, Zack Ryder, the start of Seamus/Benjamin. Any talent in the WWE should be happy if they're asked to be switched over to ECW. The writers on ECW know how to utilize the people they have in the one hour they're allotted. You make a good piont in saying that storyline wise it was stupid for Tiffany to get rid of her talent because those were the stars of ECW. But in hindsight the talent she got has worked out well for her. The Bella Twins are irrelevant, William Regal will be a future ECW Champion, Shelton Benjamin has been given the role of talent developer with the new breed, and Goldust has been doing a great job as the set up man for Benjamin. Even Zack Ryder went through his fair share of Goldust and Benjamin matches before getting the biggest win of his career: the #1 contender's battle royal. He lost it, but that's only because the title is being groomed for Regal. Oh and Washington talk show is better with Tony Atlas. Atlas is playing his role to a T and it's great. *HA-HA-HA*
Dolph Ziggler: I love this guy, he is incredibly underrated, his match with Rey Mysterio at Summerslam is one of my MOTY's. GREAT match. Again, amazing how Raw treated him like sh*t, but as soon as he goes to Smackdown, they realise how talented he actually is. Heres to "Hi... I'm the Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler!"
As much as I want the IC title on this man he won't get it at HIAC. He'll have a series of matches with John Morrison much similar to those he had with Rey Mysterio. Ziggler will be the IC champion by the end of the year. And I think his pause in gaining that title NOW is because of Maria. Ever since they started hooking up Maria's been showing signs of turning heel, specifically against Melina. This feud sets up a perfect way to transition the Divas storyline into the Superstars' storyline. Melina and Morrison's storied past will play into this IC feud. Maria's heel turn will come into fruition soon and she will be the catalyst that gives Ziggler his long awaited first singles title. This will lead to Melina starting a full fledged feud against Maria and continuing the series of matches for a short while between Morrison and Ziggler. I think Ziggler takes the title at Armageddon (or whatever that PPV is now named!)
Nothing added but time.
Jason.
