On 11/22/09 the WWE presented Survivor Series, live on pay-per-view for a ridiculous amount of money - my bank statement says so. (I love to make Vince rich!). After John Cena pinned Triple H to retain the WWE Championship, and being stuffed with pizza and soda - because that's what you do when you order WWE from home - I predicted the 30 entrants to the Royal Rumble.
My Original Picks:
The Mi, John Morrison, Jack Swagger, William Regal, MVP, Dolph Ziggler, Kane, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Finlay, Evan Bourne, The Hurricane, Shelton Benjamin, Matt Hardy, Mark Henry, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase, R-Truth, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston Reymysterio, Batista, Big Show, Chris Jericho, Chavo Guerrero, Tyson Kid, David Hart Smith, Shawn Michaels, Triple H.
Final (Order of) Entrants:
Dolph Ziggler, Evan Bourne, CM Punk, JTG, The Great Khali, Beth Phoenix, Zack Ryder, Triple H, Drew McIntyre, Ted Dibiase, John Morrison, Kane, Cody Rhodes, MVP, Carlito, The Miz, Matt Hardy, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Shelton Benjamin, Yoshi Tatsu, Big Show, Mark Henry, Chris Masters, R-Truth, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Chris Jericho, Edge, Batista
All-in-all I predicted 21.5/30. The reasoning behind the .5 is simply because Hurricane Helms was to be in the Rumble but due to his arrest he was "given the night off". **Update: Apparently Helms was found with a muscle relaxer in his bag. So, there goes the excuse the WWE is going with as to why Chris Jericho was not taken out of the Rumble - as if they really needed one, it's Chris Jericho for crying out loud** Also to note, William Regal was officially announced per WWE.com; however, he too was not in the Rumble - no explanation found.
I did attend the live event and will now watch the PPV in order to hear the commentary to provide my full analysis. Overall the show was great and the WWE product has been picking up steam - especially now that TNA has decided to go against the WWE on Monday nights. And no ladies and gentlemen, the Monday Night Wars is not beginning again. TNA is simply trying to make a small dent - which if it does it will lead to the potential beginnings of a war. For now, this is merely a small battle.
I will say though that the spot of the night was when Beth Phoenix eliminated The Great Khali.
